Powder, spray or oil for latex?

Latex is a natural material that requires proper care. First and foremost, it is not advisable to expose it to prolonged sunlight, extreme temperatures, or store it in dusty or damp environments. Even when adhering to these guidelines, proper latex care is necessary. There are many products available. Most of them are honestly just "wallet bait." We don't want to confuse you, so we've reduced them to a minimum and only to the useful ones. By the way, every experienced latex enthusiast knows that the only thing truly needed is pure silicone oil for latex and nothing else ;-) Let's discuss it.

Silicone Oil for Latex

Is nothing else really needed? No, seriously NO! Thanks to silicone oil, latex:

  • Shines
  • Is easy to put on
  • Is safely stored
  • Is protected against aging

Latex Spray

It's the same oil, only in spray form. Some find it practical, but you'll soon discover the opposite because:

  • It is significantly more expensive, and half of it flies into the air, where it disappears without use.
  • It disperses throughout the room, so besides the latex garment, everything within reach becomes greasy.

The spray is great for quick polishing outdoors or at a party where you don't have to clean up after yourself. Even so, think about the person who will have to clean up after you.

Latex Powder

It is used against stickiness. It helps with dressing and storing. However, once you get used to the oil, you won't want to see powder again. Want to polish your garment? You must first remove the powder from the outside. Want to powder it? You need to degrease and dry it again. And you keep doing this over and over, which is quite a hassle.

We recommend powder:

  • For the first try-on, so the garment can be returned or exchanged for a different size.
  • When sending for a possible complaint.
  • For self-manufacturing or repairs, because dry, slightly powdered latex is easy to handle.

Latex Cleaner

After short-term home use, simply rinse the latex in lukewarm water, which effectively removes sweat and dust. A more thorough cleaning is recommended after prolonged wear outside the home (at parties, in the studio, in nature) or when in contact with other body fluids. There are many different latex cleaners available, but their quality often falls short of the expected results. For truly perfect care, we have tested various products on your behalf and clearly recommend the Professional Latex Cleaner - beGLOSS Latex Detergent - Special Wash! This product cleans and disinfects latex. It is suitable for both hand washing and machine washing, a method that many users initially reject. However, once you try washing latex in the washing machine, you will appreciate not only the perfect cleaning, but also the considerable saving in time and effort.

Latex Glue

A necessity for manufacturing and repairs. It is important to know that only vulcanizing glue works on latex. No Chemoprén or superglue will ever work! The glue is applied to both glued surfaces and allowed to dry for about 3 - 5 minutes. Then both surfaces are pressed firmly together, and it's glued. It sounds simple, but latex twists, stretches, and otherwise tests your nerves. If you've never done it before, brace yourself with patience ;-) More information can be found directly in the glue description.
